About Me
Prof. Dr. Arun Jamkar’s journey spans over four decades at the intersection of surgery, medical education, and healthcare.
Trained as a surgeon and later specializing in laparoscopic and transplant surgery, he built a strong foundation in clinical excellence.
His work extends beyond academia into global collaborations, research, and innovation. From leading international research initiatives with institutions like the University of Michigan and Johns Hopkins, to contributing to policy frameworks such as the National Medical Commission, his impact reflects a rare blend of practice, thought leadership, and execution.
As a former Vice-Chancellor of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, he played a key role in shaping medical education at a systemic level, contributing to national reforms and competency-based learning models that continue to influence institutions across India.
Today, as a Distinguished Professor and advisor in healthcare and life sciences, he continues to mentor the next generation, drive innovation in medical education, and contribute to the evolving future of healthcare.
